Plant & Equipment

HydroChem Group is a leading supplier of high-quality water treatment plant and equipment. We associated with some of the largest commercial and OEM companies in the UK, North America, and Europe.

We work across all sectors in the water treatment industry to solve, process and manufacturing challenges. designing, supplying, installing, servicing, and maintaining quality.

HydroChem Group offers bespoke, all inclusive water treatment solutions to industry, commercial and domestic applications with new installations and decommissioning of old systems. These include Filtration, Water softeners, RO units, De-ionisers, chemical dosing units, Ultraviolet (UV), and sample coolers among others.

Spare parts and replacement components are available for many different makes for market satisfaction.

Water Treatment Equipment Installation, Repair and Maintenance Service

Unlike many suppliers, HydroChem has its own team of skilled installation, repair, and maintenance engineers operating throughout the UK.

The continued reliability of your equipment can be ensured by the professional installation and planned through life support maintenance contract for that equipment. This may be monthly quarterly annual or bi-annual servicing depending on the needs of the client or plant.  This enables the system to be efficient in identifying the requirement before problems arise and for routine replacement spares to be supplied.

Through life support as it implies keeps on top of the equipment for all its working life and all existing plant may be adapted to this service as an upgrade. HydroChem Group has many spares for all main and some minor water treatment plant and all suppliers are used as the need to keep critical processes operational are paramount.

As your dedicated water treatment specialist, HydroChem Group supply both off the shelf and a fully bespoke supply chain for all plant and equipment that is used in the industry.

If you have an existing piece of plant or equipment in need of repair or maintenance, contact us and we will assess the situation and provide relevant advice.

Equipment Range

The range of Water treatment equipment covers many applications and uses. The design, supply, installation of a water treatment scheme may employ one or more of the items of water treatment shown below.

Customer and client needs are tailored to meet exacting standards as laid down by regulatory bodies and meets stringent guidelines for use and applications.

Effective water treatment often requires a multi-range of equipment in combination to provide a total solution. HydroChem Group can offer a full range of water treatment package equipment to suit all needs. HydroChem Group also works with all major manufactures within the industry and can service, repair, or replace parts and major components.

  • Filtration (Domestic and Industrial)
  • Ion Base Exchange water softeners (Cabinet, Simplex, Duplex Metered)
  • Reverse Osmosis (Well water, Mains, Brackish, and Seawater)
  • Demineralisation / Deionisation
  • Air / Ozone disinfection injection
  • pH Correction
  • Nitrate Removal
  • Turbidity / sediment control
  • Odour / Taste / Tannin, Organic Scavenger
  • Iron, Manganese, Aluminium, Hydrogen Sulphate, metal contaminants
  • UV disinfection / Filtration units

Plant and equipment installed wall/floor/skid mounted and containerised units.

HydroChem Group is experienced in chemical processes and has the right technical support package to ensure that the systems are designed, managed, and correctly operational for the use it was installed for.

Water Softening (Hardness)

Water causes scale build up because of the hardness in the supply water which reduces heat transfer efficiency and breakdown of equipment, higher detergent use and increase operating costs. Calcium and magnesium salts are removed by ion exchange using salt to regenerate the process.

pH Correction (Acid Water)

Waters supplied from wells maybe acidic (acid water pH below 7). This can cause corrosion of pipework. Passing water through a vessel containing a pH media will raise the low pH to a satisfactory level to use for normal use.

Turbidity Removal (sediment)

Water which is cloudy may be caused by particles suspended in it. Turbid waters may be treated to clear levels using multimedia filtration. Specialist media may be used to increase polishing and clarity of the water.

Iron Manganese

Aluminium, Hydrogen Sulphide. Oxygen is increased to make these soluble contaminants easier to be filtered out by precipitating before back washing out to waste as a fine precipitate. Media choice is given for the most effective treatment. An air draw kit allows for increasing oxygen for better media/contaminant reaction.

Nitrate Removal

Water which in rural areas can be contaminated with Nitrate from fertilisers. Using ion exchange resin (like softeners) Nitrates can be reduced to low limits for drinking using salt to regenerate the resin. Whole house or small units are available.

Organic Scavenger, Tannin – Peaty water

Upload waters give are/ yellow tint. Highland water may be very brown and unsuitable for use. Resin is used to hold these organics which are periodically back washed with salt or brine (like a softener) making the clarity and colour acceptable.

Pesticide, Chlorine

Taste, odour (G.A.C) Granular Active Carbon is used to remove these. Larger systems and high volumes may be treated and backwashed. The contaminants are absorbed or converted making the water acceptable.

Air & Ozone Injection

The extra addition of oxygen is by a venturi or by an ozone generator. This may increase the pH by gassing off Co2 and reducing Hydrogen Sulphide. It may be fitted prior to iron and manganese units and to stop bad taste in the water supply.

De-ionisation

Raw water may be treated to give pure water by removing the ions (cation/ anion) to remove the majority of the dissolved solids (TDS). Very effective after R.O treatment as a RO/DI unit for pure water supply. A mixed bed vessel and resin may be replaced and changed when quality erodes.

Reverse Osmosis & Nano Filtration

Osmotic effect filtration under high pressure through a semi-permeable membrane can reduce contaminants to as much as 99.5%. Water can be polished with a de-ionisation resin for higher quality. Units may be small domestic mains pressure to high pumped pressure type for industry.

Triplex System

Designed and developed which uses an aerator (Venturi) with a vessel loaded with specific media to remove various contaminants and pH levels. Very effective for pH, turbidity, iron, manganese and hydrogen sulphide.

Ultra-filtration system

Used to remove submicron particles such as clay or colloids. They also are fine enough to stop bacteria and can be used in conjunction with disinfection systems. This uses a multiport valve to backwash with the option of disinfectant dosing to keep UF module clean. The 0.2-micron UF is difficult because the filters can be easily blinded so pre-treatment must be correct.
